Introducing Brynlee

Brynlee Veronica Mason
Born: November 27, 2009 @ 12:29p.m
7lbs 5 ozs 20" long

This is the first time that I got to see her. She was taken down to the NICU before I even got a chance to look at her (I had to wait a good 1 1/2 to 2 hours before I was able to visit). She had to be on oxygen for most of the first day. Today however she seems to be doing well and is off the oxygen. She is still down in NICU where they are keeping a close eye on her.

Daddy's first time holding her.

We think she is pretty cute. And she already looks a lot like Rylee minus the curly blond hair! We are so glad that she made it here safely. Hopefully she'll be able to continue to improve and come home when mommy does.

Trick-or-Treat

This year Rylee wanted to be a bunny for Halloween. She was SO excited. Almost every day in October she would ask if it was time to trick-or-treat.

We only went to 5 houses, but that was enough candy for this little bunny. Actually at the last house she took some candy, but when she went to put it into her bucket she said, "Oh there's no more room" and gave the candy back.

Grandpa and Grandma Mason took her to the pumpkin patch this year. Here is she is with one of the pumpkins she picked out.

Little Dancer

Rylee started dance this fall. She loves it!
What a cute girl! All ready to go.

By the way for those of you that may be wondering...
We are having another GIRL!!!
We had our ultrasound yesterday and everything looks great!
Have I mentioned that Rylee really likes carousels?

Here we are at the county fair...riding the carousel of course.

Luckily we only had to ride it four times!!!

Rylee's Birthday Party

Better late than never....right?!?!?! Here are pictures from Rylee's birthday party.

Rylee loved her pinata. Who new that they make pinatas so strong. We had to finally pull out a heavy baseball bat so she could break the thing open.

My attempt at making unicorn cupcakes. Note to self: next year buy a cake! As you can see I completely forgot the birthday candles...no problem sparklers will work. If only Rylee would have realized that no matter how hard she blew they just had to go out on their own.

Opening presents

Rylee and all of her birthday presents. Thanks to everyone that came to her party to help us celebrate!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!

It's so hard to believe that Rylee is 3 years old today. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone. She is growing up way too quickly.

Here is Rylee on her blessing day. She isn't quite 2 months old in the picture.

Here she is today. Looking quite grown up!

Rylee is such a joy in our lives and we love her so much. It's hard to imagine life without her. Stay tuned for pictures of her unicorn birthday!

A Day at the Zoo!

We've wanted to take Rylee to the zoo since the weather warmed up, but haven't had a chance. We finally found a day we could go as a family. Rylee wasn't sure what to expect (for some reason she thought Diego lived at the zoo), but she ended up having tons of fun. Here are a "few" pictures!

The day started off with a train ride.

Rylee's least favorite animal. She got out of her stroller walked over to take a look and quickly turned around and ran back to the stroller. She didn't want to look at the big scary rhinos anymore.

It took a lot of convincing to get her to take a picture with the pretend rhino!

Rylee and daddy both really liked the elephants. We sat and watched them for quite a while.

Yikes! Imagine being pregnant for as long as an elephant!

Giraffes!

Rylee was a bit worried about sticking her head in a lion's head to get a drink of water, but she ended up thinking it was pretty cool.

Up close with the mountain sheep

Rylee's most favorite animal in the whole zoo was the camel!?!? Who would have guessed! Out of all the cool animals in the zoo Rylee picked the ugliest as her favorite!

Gorgeous isn't it!

And of course we can't walk past a merry-go-round without stopping for a ride!

OR TWO!!!

At the end of the day Rylee was so worn out she could hardly keep her eyes open, but she asked if we could go to the zoo again!

She really is excited about the news! I promise!

SNOW DAY!

We thought that spring had finally arrived until last week when we got 14" of snow. Rylee was so excited to see the snow. So of course she wanted a play day in the snow.

Rylee and Grandpa Mason went sledding. She had so much fun!

Shouldn't you be taking a nap???

One day while Rylee was suppose to be napping Shaun heard a loud crash. Upon entereing Rylee's room this is the mess that he found! Luckily Rylee escaped without a scratch. She was pretty shaken up though. We've learned our lesson and now have the dresser bolted to the wall.

Day at the Beach

In February we were able to go to California for a few days and visit Shaun's brother and his family. It was so nice to get away from the cold weather. We even were able to spend a day at the beach. Rylee loved the water. She would run right in and wait for the waves to come up around her legs. She ended up drenched from head to toe. It made for a chilly ride back!

New Years Day

Well our New Year started off with a bang! While running around Ry tripped and hit her eye on the coffee table. Within seconds it started to turn black. This is a couple days after the incident.

Snow Days

At the first sign of snow this year Rylee told us she needed to get some snow boots. While out running some errands we searched high and low to find the perfect pair (seriously if you want to find a good pair of boots don't go looking on the first snowy day of the season!!!).We finally found a cute cute pair of PINK boots.

Christmas

Rylee was so excited for Christmas this year. We had so much fun getting ready for the holiday. Ry really did get the hang of the whole idea of Santa and presents, but we really struggled trying to explain the true meaning of Christmas (maybe next year she'll get it). Here are a few pictures of Christmas morning. We didn't get a picture of all her new toys together, but here are all the presents under the tree (use your imagination).
Rylee loved her stocking and actually didn't want to open any presents....we finally convinced her Santa had brought her other presents.
After opening each present she had to have it opened and wanted to play with all her new toys we had to keep nagging her to open another gift.
At Shaun's parents house Rylee got a few gifts each with some clothes inside. We all sat around watching Ry open her gifts and all you could see were clothes being chucked over her head as she tried to find the bottom of the box. Needless to say those presents weren't very much fun for her to open.
